Piercing Kisses

For several months, Guillermo Galindo maintained a dialogue with an Artificial Intelligence program, resulting in the images that comprise Piercing Kisses. The exploration of gender fluidity in the artist's own experience, as well as the idea of "anima"—a Jungian term designating the feminine aspect in the unconscious of an individual born in a male body—inform this work. The use of symbolism, metaphors, and archetypal evocations, in addition to crossing thresholds between imagination and reality, virtuality and physical experiences, led to an artificial intelligence-assisted journey through which Galindo questions his own eternal feminine and its opposite, toxic masculinity.

CROSSLUCID

CROSSLUCID is an artist collective (founded in 2018) dedicated to highly collaborative, multidisciplinary projects in co-evolution with technology. Their work and research converge around the exploration of the self as a network; intimacy and the potential for pleasurable actualization through the digital sphere; and the reimagining of our alliances with technology as part of a sympoietic biosphere and post-material universal consciousness. Through explorations ranging from filmmaking to poetic artificial intelligence, multi-layered collage techniques, assemblage, and experience-based interventions, they create experiential scenarios and formats that instigate the prototyping and experimentation of potential futures, as well as the progression of metamodern values.
